Ball Corporation is currently looking for a motivated and nimble person for the position:
Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
(Location: GBS Belgrade)
Primary purpose of position:
To act as a subject matter expert for the Ball group with respect to statutory reporting, IFRS to US GAAP differences and consolidated external financial reporting. To support the Financial Reporting Manager in developing the center of expertise for financial reporting compliance in Belgrade.
Reports to: Financial Reporting Manager
Main tasks:
- Responsible for the production of statutory accounts for group entities, liaising with external audit teams, tax, accounting teams and external service providers.
- Serving as primary coordinator for statutory reporting requests, preparation of GAAP vs GAAP bridge files, and providing the supporting information for preparation of statutory accounts and disclosures in notes to statutory accounts.
- Cooperates with and assists, as required, the company’s independent accounts in completing requested schedules or analysis necessary for the completion of the audit of the statutory accounts across geographies.
- Provides support to financial reporting manager in building of the increased centralization of compliance activities and broadening of the scope of activities the team is providing.
- Provides support in conducting an investments impairment analysis by using income ( Discounted Cash Flow) or market approaches.
- Developing knowledge of US GAAP – IFRS reporting differences to facilitate the preparation of statutory accounts under local GAAP. Developing and maintaining up to date knowledge on accounting and reporting requirements in the geographies served in order to ensure the quality of service provided.
- Assists, on an as needed basis, with the providing supporting schedules for quarterly and annual footnote disclosures.
- Maintaining and updating compliance calendar for filing responsibilities around the group and coordinates communication with teams around the group in order to ensure they meet their filing responsibilities.
- Broadens finance experience by supporting other functions within the controllers group (e.g. consolidations team, technical accounting, cash flow statement preparation, etc).
- Understands and executes against key SOX control activities for compliance and reporting
- Develops and maintains various financial reports using JDE, HFM, and Smartview Excel files.
- Supports the controllers group and financial reporting manager through global finance projects as they arise.
Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through graduate degree level education in accounting or work related experience
- Job related experience for 3 years minimum in public accounting, big 4 preferred
- Certifications/Licenses/Other: CPA or local equivalent
- Meets tight deadlines consistently and reliably, and is responsible for communicating any deadlines that may be missed to immediate supervisor in a timely manner
- Fluency in English required, multilingual preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of the following areas:
- IFRS/Local GAAP. US GAAP knowledge a plus
- Month end/year end close and consolidation processes
- Integrated financial and ERP systems
- General management techniques and principles
